Roadtrip – poème

Riding on the road
I saw something up the hill,
It seemed a bit odd,
For there was nothing with the will
To stand up there.

I don’t know what it was,
I don’t know why it was there,
If I don’t know I’ll be in crisis,
For maybe it’s her.

I stopped my car at the peak,
Lighting my torch, I started searching,
I know there was something,
Because I felt a kiss on my cheek
And felt happy.

I don’t know what it was,
I don’t know why it was there,
If I don’t know I’ll be in crisis,
For maybe it’s her.

Smoke is rising in the air,
A bottle of Jack on the passenger seat,
I found you my lover, in the heat,
Now I’ll be with you anywhere,
Don’t leave me again.

Now I know what it was,
I know why it was there,
It was death waiting for me,
My dead lover up there.
